The following is the full text of this week's broadcast:

Let's face facts.

Our nation has an Achilles' heel.

It makes us beholden to some countries that don't share our values, while we fill their coffers.

Some countries use the money to buy influence in America, including on our campuses.

Some fund radical Islamic schools and mosques around the world.

Some teach and preach hatred of Christians and Jews.

Some seek weapons that could one day be used against us.

What's our Achilles' heel?

It's our dangerous dependence on oil from unfriendly and unstable countries.

We're five percent of the world's population, but use twenty-five percent of the world's oil.

That's bad for our national security, economy, and environment.

But we can do something about it.

Washington is waking up.

Now is the time to tell our elected officials to put aside partisan and regional differences, and go all out to wean our nation from its dangerous addiction.

And each of us, in our daily lives, can help.

Remember: Our national security hangs in the balance.

This is David Harris of the American Jewish Committee.
