The following is the full text of this week's commentary:

Which countries do Americans feel most warmly about? Which countries are considered America's best friends?

A new national poll by Quinnipiac University gives the answers.

Israel ranks third, after England and Canada.

Israel's strong showing underscores the unique ties between two nations united by common values.

Both countries were founded by pioneers of courage, faith and vision.

Both countries have been enriched by immigrants from around the world who've brought vitality and spirit to their new homes.

Both countries are vibrant democracies.

Both countries contribute disproportionately to the advancement of science, medicine, and technology.

Both countries respect and protect religious freedom for all.

And both countries understand the threat to global peace posed by Iran's quest for nuclear weapons and terrorist groups like Hamas and Al-Qaeda. They understand the need to face these threats squarely and with resolve.

America and Israel. A special relationship.
