Texas Children's Hospital CEO Mark A. Wallace to Receive JINSA's Houston Leadership Award
 On October 20, 2009, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs will honor Mark A. Wallace, President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Children's Hospital, with its prestigious Houston Leadership Award. Mr. Wallace will be the 17th recipient of JINSA's Houston Leadership Award, created to honor and recognize outstanding Houstonians. U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Edward G. Winters, III, will deliver the keynote address. Admiral Winters is the commander of the Naval Special Warfare Command, home of the famous SEAL naval commandos that are one of our country's greatest assets in the Global War on Terrorism. This widely attended event will take place October 20, 2009 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Westin Galleria, 5060 W. Alabama, Houston, Texas. New issue of The Journal of International Security Affairs in bookstores soon!
 The Fall 2009 issue of The Journal of International Security Affairs will hit bookstores, newsstands and (for all subscribers) your mailbox the second week of October. This issue features 11 powerful articles covering the subjects of "Revitalizing Public Diplomacy" and "Eurasia, Revisited." The articles cover a range of issues from the lack of substance in America's broadcasting to majority Muslim states to Russia's inevitable decline. Highlights include an article by former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Colleen Graffy on the necessity for America's public diplomacy efforts to keep up with changes in the global media environment. Journal Articles to be used in U.S. Army War College Course Material
 Three articles from The Journal of International Security Affairs will be used in course material for the 2010 academic year. Two of the articles, Adm. Eric T. Olson's "A Balanced Approach to Irregular Warfare" and Brian Mazanec's "The Art of (Cyber) War", are from the Spring 2009 issue. "Nuclear Deterrence for a New Century" by Dr. Keith B. Payne from the Spring 2006 issue will also be used. |

Press Release - JINSA Urges U.S.
Support for Honduras Democracy
On September 4, 2009, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs urged the State Department to support democracy in Honduras by not designating former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya's removal from office a military coup, noting that such a step would deprive the democratic country of Honduras of hundreds of millions of dollars in desperately needed aid.
