(2006-08-07) We cant help wondering why it took our government 23 years from
the first Hezbollah attack to get to this point today where President Bush is
trying to finally defang Hizballah and assist Lebanon in asserting its
sovereignty to all its territory. We still await action, however, on the sure
knowledge that Iran and Syria are ultimately the culprits and no victory in

Defiant Iran Challenges West Over Nuclear Program

(2006-08-08) Firmly rejecting the first U.S. offer of direct talks in the 27
years since the Islamic revolution, Iran vowed August 6 to expand its uranium
enrichment project and warned of a severe response if the United Nations
imposed sanctions aimed at halting the atomic program. Never having embraced
regime change, and with diplomacy rejected, the White House finds itself in a
corner over what experts call the single gravest threat facing U.S. interests
today.

U.S. Northern Command to Take Larger Role in Disaster Relief

(2006-08-09) The United States Northern Command (NORTHCOM), the newest of
Americas regional combatant commands, may not be a household name but, as a
JINSA delegation learned during a recent visit, it plays a critical role in
defending the American homeland from attack whether by terrorists, long-range
missiles or natural disasters.
