Hello and welcome to the third update from DefendTheWhiteHouse.org.  Less than a week to go until the big event, and we have the answer to the question that's been burning in everyone's mind since we began: where do I go??  Here's the scoop:

After reading this check out www.supportthetroopsweekend.org for a complete schedule of events.

For those that will get into DC on Friday, at 7:00pm we will head over the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to join with the DC Freepers in counter protesting Code Pink's explotation of military men and women at their weakest points.   While at the hospital remember there are severely wounded soldiers recuperating there so we want to do as we should in front of a hospital; BE QUIET. Code Pink has already put flyers in the mailboxes of all the neighbors living near the hospital notifying them that there will be more people there than usual on the 23 rd and that those coming to oppose them (us) will be very loud and to feel free to call the police against them.  They truly have no shame; let's prove them wrong on this point, too.

The Defend the White House rally being at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Navy Memorial at 10:00am which is on Pennsylvania Ave between 9th and 7th streets

We also have a permit for a large area along the parade route to counter the main antiwar parade as they pass by. This location will be revealed during our rally at the Navy Memorial. After the end of their march passes us by we will call it a day; by this time we are probably looking at about 4:00pm.

Sunday brings the large event hosted by Move America Forward, rightmarch.com and others.  This promises to be a well-attended, heavily-covered rally featuring active duty service-men and -women and their families as well as the families of those killed in action.  We'll meet at noon on the Mall at 4th St. NW near the Air and Space Museum.  For those still in town after Saturday, this will definitely be worth attending.

And for those still sticking around Monday the DC Freepers and others will be joining with military families to lobby congress to "stay the course" of our military missions overseas.  The antiwar groups have promised numerous actions at the White House, Pentagon and other facilities, some possibly leading to their pre-planned and deliberate arrest.  More information on Monday's activities will be announced at the weekend rallies.

SIGNS: For those of you coming form or familiar with the ProtestWarrior organization, we encourage you not to use most of the typical PW signs.  Some may be offensive to those not familiar with the PW style of counter-protest, including military families and our friends in the pro-liberation Muslim community, some of whom will be speaking at our rallies.  Since we do not have the funds of large groups and are doing everything out of pocket we will have a limited number of signs to hand out. We encourage you to bring your own signs if possible. This is not an infiltration operation so the majority of PW signs will not work here. We will also have a few signs up at the DtWH site soon that you can print out and construct at home. We also encourage you to make your own signs or bring flags. If you are unsure about the message of your sign please feel free to email  us. Any signs supporting the troops, America and first responders (police, FD, paramedics, etc) are all appropriate.  For sign poles we are only allowed to use cardboard poles, per DC Parks regulations.

Interest and communication continued its steady increase since our last mailing.  We look forward to seeing you all there, and we thank you all for your support.
